Trump winning the election was not the best thing that could have happened. There’s no getting around that.

But at the same time, there are two ways we can look at it. The first is to accept defeat, and let ‘the forces beyond our control’ determine our destiny. Hope for change. The second, is to go out and forge our reality. Create the change.

In a weird way, I’m kind of pumped that Trump won the election.

The other day, I heard someone say “the most challenging of times can create the greatest of opportunities.”

When you received a failing grade on a mid-term, you busted your ass off and crushed the final. When you unexpectedly got let go from your job, you networked like hell and found a BETTER one. When you were told you have high blood pressure, you transformed your diet and exercised 7x as much. When you got beat up on the street, you hit the weights harder than ever before.

Somehow, these seemingly negative events become catalysts for positive change - when taken ownership of. Things become BETTER than they would have been before.

People are always looking to find their calling, or purpose, or passion, or whatever you want to call it. If there is something that you are really fearful of after these election results, this could help you find it.

If you fear about economic and job stability, now is the time to create that business you’ve been wanting to start. If you fear about climate change, now is the time to evaluate your consumption habits, and help others do the same. If you fear about gender or racial inequality, now is the time to take a stand. And so on.

While the government can create influence, it is the people who create impact.

Things could be worse. And things will get better. They always do.
